Borussia Dortmund secured their first Bundesliga win of the season with a thrilling 3-1 victory over TSG Hoffenheim at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday evening.
The match was a closely contested affair, with both sides creating numerous opportunities throughout the game. However, it was Adeyemi who stole the show for the hosts, scoring two goals to double Dortmund's lead in the opening half.
In the 24th minute, Adeyemi received a through ball from Erling Haaland and fired home a powerful shot into the top corner to give Dortmund a deserved lead. The Nigerian striker continued his impressive form in the second half, scoring a second goal just before the hour mark to complete the rout.
Hoffenheim struggled to find any rhythm as they were outplayed by Dortmund, who dominated possession and created plenty of chances. The visitors were unable to respond to Dortmund's early pressure and were eventually punished for their lack of composure.
Despite the defeat, Hoffenheim manager Hansi Flick praised his players' spirit despite the loss. "I'm very proud of my team today. We showed great character," he said.
Dortmund will be hoping to build on this confidence as they look to maintain their lead at the top of the table. With three games remaining in the group stage of the Champions League, the German side will need to keep their focus and perform well against their upcoming opponents.
