On Saturday, the Chinese women's national football team (WU) returned to action after a two-month break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The WU defeated the Vietnamese women's national football team 4-0 at the National Stadium in Wuhan.

The match was played under strict health and safety protocols, including temperature checks, mask-wearing, and social distancing measures. Despite these challenges, the WU showed their determination and skill on the pitch, dominating the game from start to finish.

In the first half, the WU took control of the game and created numerous opportunities to score. Their midfielders, including Guo Jinglin and Wang Shuang, were particularly impressive, making several key passes and defending effectively against the Vietnamese attackers.

The second half saw the WU continue to dominate, with their forwards, including Ye Shiwen and Zhang Yue, finding the back of the net three times. The third goal came from a penalty kick awarded to Ye by referee Huai Zhiyin, who had been fouled by a Vietnamese player.

Despite the victory, the WU will face tougher competition ahead as they prepare for the upcoming AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification matches. However, the WU's strong performance in the home opener is a good indication of their readiness for the tournament and their ability to compete at the highest level.
