Lens have continued their impressive form this season as they defeated Toulouse 4-0 at the Stade de France on Saturday evening in Ligue 1.

The match was a dominant display from the hosts, who took the lead just after the half-hour mark through a header from French international Kalidou Koulibaly. The defender's header was met by Lens midfielder Mathieu Debuchy, who nodded it home to give his side a 1-0 lead.

Toulouse struggled to find a foothold in the game after that early goal, and were eventually punished for their lack of composure when Lens doubled their lead through a free-kick taken by substitute Fofana. The striker's curling effort was deflected into the net by the Toulouse defence, and the goal gave Lens a commanding 2-0 lead at halftime.

The visitors came out stronger in the second half, but Lens responded with more clinical finishing as they scored twice more in quick succession. First, Ondrej Koudis slotted home a penalty following a foul by Toulouse's defender, before Ondrej Koudis added another late on to make it 4-0.

Lens' win is a significant one for the club, and comes just three days after they beat Olympique Marseille 3-1 in the Coupe de la Ligue. It also sees them move up to fourth place in the table, just two points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

For Toulouse, it was a disappointing result as they fell to their first defeat of the season. The visitors will now look to bounce back against Bordeaux next weekend, while Lens can take their foot off the gas and focus on their own business in the league.
